《大智度論・釋報應品第二》：「佛至樹下時，奉上好草。執金剛菩薩，常執金剛衛護菩薩。」可見在早期，力士是以菩薩裝的形式出現。本尊力士呈憤怒相，眉頭緊鎖、怒目圓睜、嘴角緊抿，頭戴帽冠，於正前方結一大花冠，頭部兩側有帛帶垂曳，胸部飾浮雕寶釧，右手佚失，左手在胸前結無畏印，姿態與龍門石窟北魏晚期力士可相參。現存北魏時期雲岡、龍門石窟的力士雕像皆強調粗獷之氣，本尊除了裝飾（頭冠）普見於北齊時期石雕菩薩，不論肌肉的紋理、起伏，抑或浮雕的裝飾，粗中見細，與北齊的藝術風格相合，但又不似入唐後雕塑的標準化，以河北邢台堯城發現的唐代力士像為例，可以看到所屬藝術風格的不同處。
