A large carved wooden panel of a facing lion laying down in a relaxed position with its right hind leg tucked under the body, forelegs extended, stylised facial features with strong brow and nose, open mouth and almond-shaped eyes, carved striated fur-detailing to the body; some gilding remaining to the head and body. 282 grams, 25cm (10"). Property of a Brussels gentleman; previously from a Brooklyn collection, New York, USA.
