Fine Chinese Tibetan Gilt Bronze Shakyamuni Buddha sitting in the vajra meditation position. Golden in color, singular face, eyes moderately closed, and the hair stacked on the top of the head with a single ornamentation at the apex, the forehead is marked with a mark (urna). The earlobes are elongated and pierced from his time as a prince. The right limb is extended across the knee with the fingers contacting the ground in the earth-witness mudra. The left hand is placed, palm upward in the lap, in the mudra of meditation. The robes delicately incised with floral patterns. The pedestal is fashioned in the shape of a lotus bloom. The lotus is the sacred Buddhists flower and it symbolizes truth, fertility, and purity. The Bronze is in immaculate condition with minimal marring of the surface. Extensive trace of gilt and deep blue pigment on hair. Underside with incised quatrefoil flora-form petal visvavajra surrounding the centralized DaiJi. Dimensions: 6-3/4"H
