Rare, Chinese Qing Dynasty, carved jade double ram ribbed body vase. The jade expertly carved in vase, slight tall and globular shape, ovoid, wide on the shoulder gentle upward to slight opening rim, cylindrical neck with correspondence dome lid finial bud, Inner flange circumscribed around the containers lip allows for a perfect fitment of the covering, emerged two goat head flanked on the neck, raised in a short round foot base and slight concave. The Exterior carved with interlocking key fret on the lip, auspicious pattern and rectangles petals on the main belly. In ancient China, a sheep similar goat symbolized the concept of justice. Xiezhi was a mystical sheep that sought out people who had committed crimes and would gore them with its horns for punishment.
