Chinese Ming Dynasty Period, reversed blue fruit abundant motif porcelain plate. The porcelain potted in shallow vessel form, thick and large, thick, with broad wide central interior, rounded cavetto gently tapering to open wide, with a straight open lip, raised with round shallow draft, slight concave base. All reserved hand painted ornamentations are rendered in deep blue under glazed base color which contrast against the white fine color. The center interior medallion and the outer rim decorated with abundant ripe pomegranate interspersed fresh foliage. Each section banded and enclosed with single fine white ring lines. Pomegranate is known as the fruit of happiness for its red color and is a symbol of plentiful offspring for its many seeds.
