A gilded, high relief panel carved from a single piece of wood showing military figures on horse back battling with sword & spear (lower level) as generals & officials look on from a higher tier. The raised lobed border of alizarin crimson upon a dark cadmium red base with raised, scrolling, gilded decorations in each corner. The reverse of the carved portion of the panel left open. H: 16 5/8" (42.2cm) Condition: In excellent condition with a narrow crack at the top center (prior to & covered with lacquer).
