来源：文物商店旧藏炉口圆正，口沿微侈，束颈鼓腹，颈腹部对饰蚰龙耳，显灵巧之姿，与纤薄规整的胎体相映成趣，精气盎然，底承圈足外撇。通体包浆沈厚，色泽青黑浓重，是为原皮之色泽。 底部微拱，开框铸刻“名古之用”四字二行私家款识，全字取篆书，有柳叶篆意，此类篆书，唯明末清初出现，自康熙盛世，此类书风逐渐消失，后世认为其字型乖张妖媚，弃之不用，但这也为今人提供了丰富的断代理由。全字皆用刀刻，线条古拙奇崛，以刀代笔，书写意趣高于制作层面，造器只为悦己而不悦人，这也是清初器物为何能影响后世审美的重要原因之一。 蚰龙耳炉，亦素风之炉也，为历来文人雅士，各色人等所好，以致传世颇多，广为适用。书房清供，玩赏雅趣，尤以工精铜佳，私款精雅者为尚，此炉为首选之。
