REPLICA OF CHINESE HARDSTONE BURIAL SUIT - The original on view in the Metropolitan Museum of Art dates to the Han Dynasty; made of 2160 small plates of jade (nephrite) strung together with 700 grams worth of gold thread. It encased the body of Han Dynasty Princess Dou Wan who died some 2000 years ago. This (two-sided) replica is cut from hardstone; plates are fastened together with copper wire. Includes head, torso, hands and feet. In good, flexible condition. Measurements are approximate; 67"H x 28"W (arms slightly contoured, torso measured flat). 20th century.
