盖盒呈菊瓣形，盒内及底髹黑漆，外壁三十二朵花瓣均匀对称，每个瓣内亦雕琢对称菊纹，盖顶开光内雕教子图，方寸间层次分明，剔雕精细入微，山石树木、亭台摆设一丝不苟，仕女娴雅、童子稚态均生动传神。圈足以寿字纹装饰。刻工流畅，布局繁复，漆面断纹自然，具有浓郁的宫廷气息，应为乾隆时期宫廷用器，保存完好，实属不易。参阅：1、国立故宫博物院《海外遗弥-漆器》P1632、《仍存曹家－曹其镛夫妇珍藏中国古代漆器特展》，浙江摄影出版社，1993年，页185，图2203、天津艺术博物馆藏清乾隆剔红菊瓣形盒4、日本林原美术馆藏雕漆花卉纹菊瓣形盒
