Description: 8th-9th century AD. A silver-gilt box brooch comprising a discoid plaque and deep rim, hollow to the reverse with catch and pin-lug with ferrous accretion; the upper face with three sectors of chip-carved S-shaped zoomorphic ornament, the rim with bands of interlace and hatching.
