|胭脂红釉是清代名贵的颜色釉，创烧于清康熙晚期，釉中含微量的金，入炉低温烘烤而成，此釉以雍正、乾隆制品为最佳；其中雍正朝出品的胭脂红釉器均为精品，多是小件，器型精美。此拍品外施胭脂红釉，内有以粉彩绘制的牡丹一朵，色泽艳丽，款式大方。与此件规格款式完全相同的小碗可参见《Rosalind Ching Pasfor藏瓷》页36的图录（美国檀香山艺术学院2005年7月28日出版）；东京《故宫清瓷图录•康熙窑雍正窑》（1980年）中的图版139，器形、釉色、大小亦均与本品相若。
