剔犀其工艺先于木胎上漆漆百余次，如此反覆，当漆层达到所需要的厚度时，再剔刻如意云头纹。此对剔犀杯形似“铃铛”，厚沿口外侈，器身由上至下逐渐收敛，呈高圈足。堆漆肥厚，晶莹照人，刻工浑厚圆润，内配以饰锡胎，金属质感与木质的胎碰擦出了特殊的艺术火花，高度发挥了线条艺术的独特魅。
