Description

摩诃迦叶是佛陀十大弟子之一，全名大迦叶、摩诃迦叶，意为饮光。尊者生于王舍城近郊之婆罗门家。于佛成道后第三年为佛弟子，八日后即证入阿罗汉境地，为佛陀弟子中最无执着之念者。此尊头颅硕大，顶无一发，为比丘相。双目睁视，鼻梁高挺，面带笑意，展现出尊者的慈悲与怀爱。上升着交领僧衣，外披垂领袈裟，双手于胸前结印。下身着宽松僧裙，站立于台座之上。整像胎体厚重，包浆醇厚，人物造型生动写实，带有明代汉地造像的艺术特色，是内地佛教造像的经典之作。
