题识：相逢意气为君饮，系马高楼垂柳边。维新先生雅属，戊子清和，子恺画。|钤印：丰子恺、丰子恺年五十以后作 |丰子恺有不少描绘三五知己把酒共聚的题材。对于朋友知己间的相聚，他曾说过：“安得几个朋友，不用下棋法来谈话，而各舒展其心灵相示，像开在太阳中的花一样”，令其心花怒放。20世纪二十年代，他在春晖中学任教的日子，便经常与一众好友如朱自清、朱光潜、夏丐尊、刘熏宇等，结伴闲谈平生、抒怀畅聚，就如此帧《相逢意气为君饮》所描绘的情景。
