金刚瑜伽母发髻高束，头戴宝冠，三目圆睁，双眉紧簇，面相勇猛威严。身体纤瘦，双乳微隆，胸前装饰璎珞、珠链，右手上举持钺刀，左手于胸前托嘎巴拉碗，右腿弯曲悬空，左腿微躬，舞蹈姿踏于人尸之上。身后设背光，下承单层覆莲座，莲瓣扁平宽大，自然舒展。整尊造像造型优美，身体富有动感，为十四世纪西藏帕拉风格黑石造像精品。
金刚瑜伽母是无上瑜伽部胜乐金刚智慧法门的主要空行母，传承自古印度的大成就者那若巴，也是宗喀巴大师所修习的密法之一。
