|笔筒器体硕大，入手沉重，以紫檀木雕成，圆口，筒状。外壁雕琢九龙图案，九龙形态各异，或仰首向天，或俯身下望，或回身，或摆尾，在云气间追逐穿梭，时隐时现。整件作品浑然一体，大气磅礴，龙纹舒展流畅，云纹疏密有致，九龙在云雾中翻滚腾游，分外矫健。在道家思想中，龙是阳的象紉，九是阳数之极，笔筒雕九条龙纹，无疑代表了道家思想的最高境界。此件笔筒刀法自然流畅，纹饰层叠，线条极其不规则，却不失沉稳。图案清晰明朗，布局设计颇见匠心，九龙各具一处，互不重叠，造型复杂却毫不纷乱，实为清代文房用品难得之珍玩。
