|沉香木，又名沉水香，产于海南、交趾（今越南）及东印度，属香料科，这种木多用于制作香料。明代和清代中前期，宫中也用此木制成笔筒、笔插、笔搁、如意、瓶等，属于名贵珍惜药材，起到驱秽避邪、调中平肝的作用。此件沉香木雕松下人物山子以大块沉香木随行雕琢而成，沉香料质细密，在木料上用细腻的刀法雕刻了一副完整的松下高士图。山峰险峻，富有灵气，百年老树盘根其上，山体之上，雕松下人物图案。作者用刀圆熟深峻，技法纯熟，在松树祥云掩映之下，人物位置妥贴，神态自然逼真，别有古雅意味。是一件难得的文房陈设佳品。
