|扳指以白玉籽料巧琢而成，外壁作随形，并以天然金皮巧琢两个灵芝，生趣盎然。内壁则以黄金裹体，光洁润滑，金光熠熠。我国清代是玉器发展的最高峰。尤其在乾隆时期随着西域丝绸之路的恢复与开通，大量的优质的和田白玉经过丝绸之路运往中原，运抵京城。而作为清代艺术修养最高的乾隆皇帝也极为酷爱玉器，同时，此期大肆兴建的大量皇家宫廷御苑也需要大批的陈设品充斥其中，在此大背景下，包括玉器等材质的各种陈设艺术品大量产生。相比于体量较大的玉雕小件和首饰不仅在材质上，或者题材和雕琢工艺上也都体现出了乾隆时期不吝其材、不吝其工的雕琢特点。此扳指取材上乘，设计巧妙，雕琢工艺精巧细致，正是反映了这一时期的特点。
