题识：华山苍龙岭三面皆空，两崖成削状，如鲫鱼之背，令人不敢左右视。即《水经注》所称“搦岭，须骑而行者”。甲戌秋日游华归来，写似苍生仁兄法家博教。蜀人张爰。||钤印：张爰私印、蜀客 |说明：上款顾苍生为近代沪上收藏大家顾丽江之子。1934年张大千36岁，是年9月下旬，画家与其兄善孖遍等华山五峰，四处探幽索奇，沿途写生、作诗，又作画幅若干，并写《华山游稿》。其后由华山赴北平，并在11月返沪。此图即为画家在沪期间画赠顾苍生者。
