Cornelis Kuijpers, Coastlinethe in Netherlands, Oil on Canvas Cornelis Kuijpers came from a family of painters. Cornelis Kuipers belonged to his ancestors. After going through the School of Applied Arts Quellinus to Amsterdam he was apprenticed to his father Jan Kuypers , who was a landscape painter. In 1892 he married Elisabeth Terlingen and settled in Rijswijk , where he came to be under the influence of the Hague School. In 1896 he moved with his family to Renkum , where he often Veluwe in went to paint in the open air . Later he took it the nickname "painter of the Veluwe" to.Kuypers painted mostly water and landscapes in typical Dutch environments. Figures were always subordinate to nature. Later in his career, the emphasis was strongly lie in his work on large bright clouds.When his children to school went Kuypers moved back to The Hague. Then he took his wife to Soest, where he died in 1932 during a game of billiards, 68 years old. Kuypers had great success with his work abroad, especially in the United States , where he sold a lot of work by art dealers Buffa. In 1907 and 1911 he won medals at an international salon in Barcelona .
