铁翁（1789－1871），祖门和尚，又名超玄，又号铁岩，壮年出家，清代著名的画僧。昭文（今江苏常熟）人。游日本，住长崎春德寺。善山水，法南宗，有潇洒出尘之致。性狷介，不喜与俗人交，萧然一室。客至，乞其画者，闻文人雅士则赠之，若富家豪族，虽持多金不易得。曾作画论云：“钏路云泉、高久霭崖、渡边华山、椿椿山的四家是近东国南画四天王。但真能脱俗的，华山与棒山耳。尤其华山，笔势强健，气运生动。”到晚年，体得诸家之长，花鸟、人物、山水，都是笔无虚饰。繁简善之，富于节义气象，所以精神勃勃而充满，笔力强而不带霸气，而写出自然的情绪。82岁圆寂。
