在中國明代傢具的椅類中，有圈椅、官帽椅與交椅三分天下之說。圈椅厚重，官帽椅典雅，而交椅則古樸拙趣，造型脫俗。交椅以造型優美流暢而著稱，它的椅圈曲線弧度柔和自如，俗稱“月牙扶手”，製作工藝考究，通常由三至五節榫接而成，後背椅板麒麟雕刻，上方施以浮雕開光，透射出清靈之氣，兩側“鵝頭棖”亭亭玉立，典雅而大氣。座面麻索，前足底部安置腳踏板，裝飾實用兩相宜。在扶手、靠背、腿足間，配製雕刻牙子，另在交接之處也多用銅裝飾件包裹鑲嵌，不僅起到堅固作用，更具有點綴美化功能。 Chinese Qing Huanghuali Jiao Yi, 18th Century. 24*22*42 inch
