铜镀金 北京 宗喀巴生于青海湟中，藏语称湟中为“宗喀”，“巴”为地方的人，这是其尊称。宗喀巴乃格鲁派创始人，因他倡导徒众戴黄帽、着黄衣，又俗称为黄教。此尊造像是藏传佛教中最为常见的祖师像之一。头戴通人冠，表示他重戒律。双目平视，法相宁谧庄严。身着袒右肩式袈裟，内着交领式僧裙，衣缘錾刻缠枝花卉，典型的西藏僧人装束，具有明显的地域特色。双手捻莲茎于胸前结说法印，莲枝顺臂而上，花蕊上奉置象征此尊功德与智慧的宝剑和经书，其“左经右剑”的特征与文殊菩萨的标志一样，藏密尊奉他为文殊菩萨的化身。束腰仰覆式莲花座，莲瓣制作精致，排列规整。像身胎壁厚重，工艺考究，具有鲜明的十八世纪内地造像风格。
