是书封面自序云：“取理念所得及当前所悦目者，仿江村消夏之体例而变通之，积久成篇。”李佐贤以十四年的工夫作此书，反映了清代书画研究的整理成果，对书画鉴别，以及书画史论研究有重要作用。也是清代山东刻书的重要范本。利津县置于金明昌三年，因邑内有“永利”“东津”两地而得名，清代属武定府。李佐贤（1807-1876），字仲敏，号竹朋，山东利津人。清代著名钱币学家、金石学家、收藏家和书画鉴赏家。道光十五年（1835）进士，曾任清朝翰林院编修、文渊阁校理、国史馆总纂。精鉴赏，富收藏。参考唐桂艳《山东刻书史》P1513清同治十年利津李氏家刻
