此壶以紫泥制成，成型工艺极其复杂。口盖筋纹端正清晰，面面通转。整体形态巧韵，端庄秀逸，菊瓣自钮而下至壶底，子母盖周正严密，可任由一个方向置换，瓣瓣通转吻合，制作难度极大。一弯短流从菊瓣中伸展，宛若天成，圈把下垂，秀姿优雅。俯视可见层层相叠，极为美观。虽并无任何款识，但超高的造诣表现一览无余。菊瓣壶始见于清早期，多半无款，有款者亦属大名家作品，向来深得藏家赏识。
