|备注：魏晋之前古人席地而坐即坐在铺在地面的草席之上。王室贵胄之家备有低矮的床榻上面也要铺席。有的床上置帷帐帷帐四角也常用镇来压住。席镇在东周时就有实物遗存。席镇材质丰富有玉石、青铜、黄金、陶瓷等等而且因各朝各代人们思想意识、审美取向的不同而衍生出各种样式。汉代是席镇大发展时期且由于统治者尚武席镇题材多以熊、猛兽为主。此件席镇主体纹饰突出神兽怒目圆睁张口凛冽四肢雄健有力躯干借助形体矫健圆盘通体鎏金。是这一时期席镇代表之作。
